Rear Home Extension Project in Cowfold

Fresh Architects developed a contemporary rear extension concepts for this home in Cowfold, each designed to introduce generous light, a stronger relationship with the garden and a more functional ground floor layout.

The proposals explored a full-width single-storey extension featuring large format glazing, clean architectural lines, and a modern material palette that compliments the existing house. Options include a sleek linear façade with expansive sliding doors, as well as a striking gable which creates a dramatic double-height space at one end of the extension. Internally, a new ground-floor office is created through a sensitive reconfiguration of the existing layout, while the much-loved L-shaped kitchen and dining space remains central to the design. 

Practical considerations such as drainage, tree retention and structural integration are carefully addressed, resulting in a balanced, modern extension that enhances both the home and its connection to the garden.
