Private Home: A Contemporary Home Transformation in Hove

Located in the vibrant heart of Hove, this detached two-storey home originally offered a generous four-bedroom layout and an open-plan kitchen and living area. Whilst the space already supported modern family life, our clients had a clear vision: to extend, elevate, and enhance the existing property to create a spacious six-bedroom home with a ground floor designed for exceptional light, flow, and flexibility.

A Bold Vision for Expansion

To meet the brief, our proposal reimagined the home both vertically and horizontally. A substantial loft conversion was introduced, adding two additional bedrooms and two new bathrooms at the upper level. This not only increased accommodation but rebalanced the home to better support the evolving needs of a growing family.

At ground level, a sleek side extension expands the existing open-plan space, creating a new sense of generosity and connection. With clean, modern lines and a crisp architectural form, the extension is designed to sit effortlessly alongside the existing structure while adding a fresh and contemporary feel.

Designed Around Light

One of the defining features of this project is the way natural light has been prioritised throughout. The new extension features floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, large picture windows, and carefully positioned rooflights within the sloped side roof. These design elements ensure that light penetrates deep into the living areas, transforming the open-plan kitchen and living room into a bright, uplifting environment that changes with the time of day and the seasons.

The result is a home that feels spacious yet connected, open yet warm; designed not only for functionality but for comfort, creativity, and a sense of calm.
